Stylus specialists Wacom have revealed the Bamboo Tip, a fine-tip stylus that can work across iOS and Android devices without the need for pairing.
The Wacom Bamboo Tip is aimed at all manner of stylus users, from people who like to pen notes on iPads and Android tablets, to digital artists who want to work across multiple devices.
The Bamboo Tip’s main selling point is the flexibility it offers and how it isn’t tied to any particular operating system.
“In today’s connected world, we rely on a combination of smartphones, tablets and different operating systems to capture ideas, observations and next steps at work or at play,” said Mike Gay, senior vice president of the Wacom’s Consumer Business Unit.
“Bamboo Tip lets users move seamlessly between devices and operating systems to get things done. As OS providers roll out more seamless note taking and markup capabilities on their devices, Bamboo Tip will help users take full advantage to be more productive and turn ideas into reality.”
This ability to move between devices without pairing means a Bamboo Tip user could say note out an idea for a design on a iPhone, flesh it out on an iPad, then saunter over to a colleague using and Android device and talk them though and annotate the design without worrying about stylus and device comparability.
Constructed out of anodised aluminium and clad in dark blue, the Bamboo Tip stylus has a 20-hour claimed battery life, which should cover use for a couple of working days.
