The energy challenges of meeting the goals set in the Copenhagen Accord was discussed by Richard Baron, Head of the IEA’s Climate Change Unit, at a press briefing in Paris on the Cancún UNFCCC conference.
Mr. Baron stated that countries, developed and developing, are taking measures at domestic level to move towards cleaner, more secure and more efficient energy systems.
He also stressed the importance of getting energy prices right, through carbon pricing and the progressive removal of fossil fuel subsidies.
